I played the premier performance of this piece when in the Wayne State University symphonic band. It was the National Chamber of Commerce on Detroit at Ford Auditorium (1969/1970)

Recently played this piece again... brought back memories from high school, but also a question. In both this recording and in my high school's performance, a part of the piece was left out- it would be at 7:42 in this recording. After playing it at my university and leaving it in, it was the one part I didn't remember, and I distinctly remember our high school band director cutting it out, not being an older version of the piece or anything. Has anyone else performed this with that cut? And if so- why is that cut made?

We are playing it for our end of year concert for advanced orchestra and I'm super excited, I play the cello, the part is super cool

I play this for our spring concert on May 4th. I play F Horn 1 (1 because Im the only F horn in my band and at my school) That part at mesaures 57 and 106 used to give me nightmares but I'm better.

I’m a 8th grade bassist I love the amount of notes we have and how fast it is, and how challenging it is.

I absolutely LOVE the saxophone solo at the beginning of the waltz section when it played "Here Comes Santa Claus!" Whoever was playing on that night was perfect in their execution; I've learned to match my humming to its distinctive timbre whenever I (re)listen to this. I played this as trumpet when I was a sophomore at university. The section gave me a chance to recollect my chops before the final section (I played second part)
